Rubber Care & Maintenance

Material Notes

Your cuffs are built from dense industrial rubber, finished and sealed for strength. edges are permanently protected with bonded trim. This construction is designed for long-term durability while still offering a sleek, polished appearance.

Cleaning & Hygiene

  • Wash with mild soap and lukewarm water only.
  • Do not soak or submerge; prolonged water exposure at glued seams can weaken adhesive bonds.
  • Pat dry with a soft cloth, then allow to air-dry fully before storage.
  • After heavy use, clean immediately if exposed to lubricants, sweat, or fluids.
  • Avoid solvents such as acetone, bleach, alcohol, petroleum products, or abrasive cleaners.

Surface & Shine

  • The rubber does not require oiling or conditioning to maintain its strength.
  • Silicone-based shiners (such as Vivishine) may be applied safely to achieve a deep gloss finish. After extended testing, no adverse effects have been observed from this use.
  • Apply lightly, wipe to a thin coat, and avoid excess buildup at seams.

Storage Guidelines

  • Store flat or with a gentle curve. avoid folding, tight buckling, or long-term compression that may cause permanent creases.
  • Keep out of direct sunlight and extremes of heat or cold.
  • Do not store in direct contact with other rubbers, latex, PVC, or soft silicone. Use a cotton cloth or polyethylene barrier if storing alongside other materials.

Maintenance & Longevity

  • Inspect hardware before and after use. Screws can be retightened or permanently secured with thread-lock if desired.
  • Do not stack heavy objects on top, and avoid sharp or abrasive contact.
  • Over years of use, the surface may soften slightly or develop small changes — this is normal aging. Replace if you notice cracking, hardening, or significant loss of strength.

Hardware Notes

All hardware is stainless steel. In testing, stainless has shown no staining or reaction with our rubber, even in extended use. However, when pairing with light-colored rubber or latex garments, we recommend caution, prolonged direct contact between metals and pale materials can sometimes leave marks depending on environment, moisture, and wear. Use at your own discretion when combining with light colored gear.

Safety & Comfort

  • Do not overtighten; prolonged compression can risk circulation or nerve injury.
  • Always check fit and comfort before extended wear.

Deep Cleaning (Heavy Exposure)

  • For heavy fluid exposure, fully disassemble the cuffs.
  • Wash components individually with mild soap and water, avoiding prolonged wetting at glued seams.
  • Dry completely before reassembly. Ensure hardware threads are clean and dry before tightening.
